Danzas Espaņolas' repertoire spans all styles of Spanish dance and music and implements them --in their historical contexts-- in its school shows exposing children to distinctive expressions of human creativity. Spain, like the United States, is a country with people of many diverse cultural heritages. This diversity is inherent in its dance and music.
It is the goal of Danzas Espaņolas, through the media of dance and music, to provide positive models of cultural identity and to encourage a greater understanding of the expressions of the shared human experience. Accompanied by live and recorded music, Danzas Espaņolas presents full-length concerts, lecture/demonstrations, and teaching workshops.
Danzas Espaņolas has recently performed and/or taught at the following schools/venues: The Guggenheim Museum, NYC; Lincoln Center Out of Doors, NYC; Mount Saint Vincent's College, NYC; The Spence School, NYC; Saint Bernard's School, NYC; P.S. 117, NYC; Berkeley-Carroll School, NYC; Alpine School, NJ; Maplewood Middle School, NJ; Passaic High School, NJ; Skillman Elementary School, NJ.
